Desert Hymn

Sunset at Oliver Lee Park, NM

Sunset at Oliver Lee Park, NM

Orange bold colors – whisper a soft refrain.

Joined by chirps and whistles the melody swells

Into a twilight hymn.

Warm air turns crisp.

A quiet breeze brushes face and hands.

Against the sky, cacti reveal their form.

Desert – calm and tender, breathes an evening song,

Then fades into the darkening night.

The turning of a page.

Silence… Watching…

While I prefer living in/near the mountains, sometimes there is just no equal to a desert sunset…very nice, Kai….beautiful, actually. 🙂

Both mountains and desert have their own particular beauty ay? Living in India much of the year where much of nature has not been preserved as national treasures, especially appreciate the diversity and vast amounts of land set aside by thoughtful people in this country. Always relish your beautiful photos Scott…how fortunate we are to walk on parts of this land where cement has not been laid down, where the land has not been ravaged and our feet can touch heaven on earth. shanti…..happy day!
