Walking Among the Stones

It’s the brush of light,

The soft touch of a warm

Descent upon stone.

The narrowing of the path

That marks the passage

Of human forms.

Lives lived one by one,

Through the gravitational pull of desires

On a planet of dreams.

They too once laughed and cried

And now?

Where are all those human be-ings?

The earth has caressed their bones,

Worms have emancipated their sorrows.

Today this body moves and

Walks among the stones,

Reading the names.

And the next moment?

This living, breathing form

Will also lie down,

Into the caress of disintegration.

Into a wondrous change

The mind cannot know.

LOVE has been there all along…
